Heading east on the more modern Route 66 thru Albuquerque, NM... 66 Diner (1405 Central Ave NE) This diner has become a Route 66 must-stop for many. The diner started in 1987 in a former 1940’s Phillips 66 gas station although this was largely destroyed by fire. Today this retro-style diners serves up American and local diner favorites like burgers, chicken fried steak, fruit pies, and milkshakes and has a 1950’s interior decor.
